Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our shop specializing in natural gas compressors. The Shop Lead will be responsible for coordinating workflow, ensuring safety and quality standards, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining optimal efficiency in repair, maintenance, and assembly operations.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise shop personnel, providing guidance and training as needed.
Oversee repair, maintenance, and assembly of natural gas compressors and related equipment.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies.
Monitor and manage inventory, tools, and equipment required for shop operations.
Coordinate with management, engineers, and customers to ensure timely project completion.
Conduct inspections and quality control checks to maintain high service standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, maintenance logs, and shop activities.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in natural gas compressor maintenance, repair, and assembly.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a shop environment.
Strong knowledge of natural gas compressor systems, components, and operations.
Familiarity with safety regulations and industry best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shop management software is a plus.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
Education & Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Technical degree or certification in mechanical, industrial, or relevant field (preferred).
OSHA, H2S, and other relevant industry safety certifications are a plus.
