Position Summary

An AMS Field Service Tech, Level 2 is responsible for performing maintenance and repair activities on reciprocating natural gas compression equipment and process equipment. They often work directly with customers or clients, ensuring that the equipment is functioning properly and meeting the required specifications.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in accurately and effectively diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple styles of compressor systems
  • Ability to use engine-specific software (CAT and Waukesha), Microsoft software
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) with no guidance and minimal Callouts due to poor PM work
  • Perform Callouts with limited assistance from a technical expert
  • Observe and follow company health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures
  • Complete and submit company required documentation in an accurate and timely manner

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and experience on high speed and low speed natural gas reciprocating engines and compressors, and auxiliary equipment
  • Knowledge of new technologies associated with engine and compressor systems
  • Working knowledge of relevant HSE procedures and regulations
  • Knowledge of company maintenance standards checklist and ability to accurately and completely follow
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience innatural gas engines and compressors, and a strong working knowledge of production equipment, as well as electrical systems, including panel boards, skid wiring, etc.
  • Gas or diesel engine and compressor school/training preferred
  • CAT, Waukesha, White, Dresser-Rand, Cooper, Gemini and Ariel training a plus
  • Able to speak fluent English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change quickly
  • Able to guide and train others, often called on to assist in training and mentoring less experienced FST’s
  • Performs other non-essential duties as required
  • Must exhibit a high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
  • Must supply own tools up to 1 ¼”

  • Oklahoma : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
