Position Summary
This role will provide strategic and tactical leadership over the accounting department, ensuring compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements.
Manage the full cycle of accounting activities, internal controls, and support financial planning and analysis efforts
Oversee and ensure the integrity of the general ledger, month-end and year-end financial closings, and preparation of internal and external financial statements
Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance
Lead the development of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership
Maintain and enhance accounting systems and controls to ensure accurate job cost tracking and project profitability
Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and support optimal cash management strategies
Compliance and Audits Lead and mentor the accounting team; set goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development
Evaluate, implement, and continuously improve accounting systems, policies, and procedures
Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets
Inventory and COGS Management
Lead the monthly close process related to inventory and COGS, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Analyze inventory transactions and product costs, ensuring proper valuation and alignment with company policies
Partner with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to drive performance improvements and cost efficiency
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Deep knowledge of GAAP, job cost accounting, and inventory costing
5-7 years experienced leader within the accounting field required
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
Ability to achieve operational excellence through others is imperative
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and result orientation
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget required
An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills required
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
